Scalp For Dandruff dry and peel
already a few weeks I feel itching on the scalp. I think dandruff because dry skin is peeling, then I replace anti-dandruff shampoos but still not healed. Is the itching is due to fungus (tinea)? What is the cure? Thank you
answer
Itching and flaking of the scalp in adults is usually caused by a condition known as seborrheic dermatitis. This condition is similar to dandruff but usually localized to the area of a particular area. Accompanying symptoms that interfere generally is itching. This condition resembles the condition of dermatitis or other skin inflammation that occurs when physical condition was not good. Although annoying, this disease is not contagious.
Fungus does play a role in this condition, though not as the main cause. Mushrooms are fungus Malassezia involved, which is a fungus that plays well on dandruff. This is because the fungus is normally present in the skin of the head.
If you already use a variety of anti-dandruff shampoo but it did not work should try anti-dandruff shampoos are specifically anti-fungal substances such as those containing ketoconazol. You can ask this shampoo health store or pharmacy.
Another fungus called tinea indeed you can on the scalp, but generally affects children and not adults. If you've tried various products but there is no improvement then you should control your doctor because there are several other diseases whose symptoms resemble dandruff.
