Married 11 Years, Ashley Judd and Husband Split

American actress Ashley Judd and her husband racer Dario Franchitti of Scotland, agreed to end their marriage that has lasted 11 years.

According to Reuters, the 44-year-old movie star and 39-year-old racer was married in 2001, but had no children.

"We decided to end our marriage together. Well we will keep in touch and continue based on the special love, integrity and mutual respect," the statement delivered the couple's representative told People magazine on Tuesday.

No reason was cited as the cause of the breakup.

Judd is the daughter of country music star Naomi Judd. He appeared in numerous films including "Double Jeorpady" and "High Crimes". In recent years he gave great attention to the number of social activities with people with AIDS and young people.

Judd has been named as one of the United States Senate candidate from the Democratic Party in 2014, although he has not made an official announcement. Media reports said Judd, who represented Tennessee at the Democratic National Convention in 2012 will probably run for the Senate through Kentucky.

Franchitti, who won the Indianapolis 500 race three times, also competed in NASCAR and the American Le Mans series. He and Judd were married in Scotland in December 2001 after two years of engagement.
